As a Membership Association, the IWPPA strives
to achieve the following:
- Representation of a significant part of the
independent sector of waste paper merchants
- Promote and widen the use of recovered paper
both within the UK and other world markets
- Promote improved Health and Safety standards
in the industry sector
- A commitment to appropriate training and education
- A broad based membership for all sizes of company
across the United Kingdom and beyond
- Responsiveness to member's views, requirements
and business interests
- An Association Council representing these companies,
and active on behalf of all members
- Proactivity in shaping policies and initiatives
which benefit the sector
- Monitoring of, and reaction to government legislation
affecting the sector
- A planned approach to industry
- A commitment to best management policies
- A professional approach able to communicate and
negotiate at senior level
- Appropriate resourcing for its administrative
centre - the Daventry Secretariat
- A commitment to quality products and services
to, and on behalf of its members
- Hold regular General Meetings providing a forum
for both discussion and exchange of views, and for appropriate
industry related presentations
- A local focus with regular meetings for regional
groups
- Promotion of co-operation within the sector,
and with related organisations at commercial and political levels
- Awareness of technical advances and applications
- The operation of effective group purchasing schemes
across a range of goods and services for the benefit of members
- The collation and dissemination of appropriate
industry trade information
